Ever since the launch of the Golf simulation EA SPORTS PGA TOUR, EA has consistently dropped new updates introducing new courses and kits. But their latest update so far brings the most significant changes, and it is by far the biggest content update yet, which includes a new season, numerous gameplay improvements, and corrections for bugs throughout the game.
EA SPORTS PGA TOUR Season 11 will include four brand new courses, including those used in this year's majors and designed by none other than Jack Nicklaus, the all-time great and biggest Major champion. All prior updates have included the new courses and Jack Nicklaus, so there's no need to buy anything extra. As a result, 23 professional golfers can now be played on 39 courses.
Louisville, Kentucky's Valhalla Golf Course—a contemporary parkland course designed by Jack Nicklaus—will be one of the Major Courses in 2024. The course has hosted numerous major championships, such as the PGA Championship and the Ryder Cup, thanks to its expansive fairways, big, undulating greens, and difficult water hazards. Due to its status as the 2024 site of the PGA Championship, Valhalla has been modified in Career mode such that the tournament alternates between Southern Hills, Oak Hill, and Valhalla each season.
The North Carolina golf course Pinehurst No. 2, which will make its debut as the second Major Course in 2024, is famous around the world for its crowned, undulating greens and well-placed bunkers. It has more individual golf championships held there than any other course in the United States, including the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open, both of which were designed by the immortal Donald Ross. The Country Club, Pinehurst No. 2, and The Los Angeles Country Club will all take turns hosting the U.S. Open Championship in 2024. As a result, the Career mode has been changed to reflect this.
The third Major Course for 2024 will be Royal Troon, which is famous for its "Postage Stamp" eighth hole. Located on Scotland's rocky shoreline, this course is renowned as a world-class example of traditional link architecture. This year, like many others, the Open Championship will be held at Royal Troon, a course known for its difficult wind conditions, deep bunkers, big putting greens, and undulating fairways. St. Andrews, Royal Liverpool, and Royal Troon will now alternate hosting the Open in Career mode.
For those who missed it last week, in honor of Masters Week, EA also stated that the Augusta National Par 3 Course would be included in the game. The Par 3 Contest, which takes place every year on the eve of the Masters Tournament, has long been conducted at this breathtakingly picturesque course.
In addition to being featured in the Online and Tournament playlist rotations, all four of these courses are now playable in Quick Play and Private Match. Quick Play, Online, and Private Match Ryder Cup formats now include Pinehurst No. 2 and Valhalla, two venues that have previously hosted the Ryder Cup.
Famous for his 18 major tournament victories, Jack Nicklaus (also called the "Golden Bear") is known for his strong drives, pinpoint iron play, and outstanding putting abilities. Nicklaus is widely considered the best Major Champion golfer of all time, and his record six Masters victories further add to that reputation. When you take on the role of Jack Nicklaus, you'll find that he comes with his signature golf equipment, four distinct costumes, and a distinct animation for his swing. Jack Nicklaus is a game for any tournament structure that allows amateurs to compete against professional golfers.
There are now two different series of challenges available in the challenges mode. For a taste of the thrill of competing in the world-famous junior golf tournament, try out the "Drive, Chip and Putt" challenges series. Featuring highlights from the Golden Bear's Major Championship wins and other unforgettable moments from his illustrious career, the "Jack Nicklaus" challenge series pays homage to his rich legacy.
The premium tier of Season 11 Pro Pass contains a plethora of cosmetics, such as a range of spring-themed clothes, one of Jack Nicklaus' outfits, and his clubs. For free, you can get Jack Nicklaus's '65 Masters Ball Spec by completing Season 11 of the Pro Pass. For premium, you can get the J.LINDEBERG "KV Tour - Azalea" outfit. The more rounds you play in Online, Tournaments, and Career mode and complete live Quests, the more tokens you'll earn to level up your Pro Pass during the season.
On top of that, every EA Play member will have access to EA SPORTS PGA TOUR via the Play List on April 4th! As a member, you'll have access to a variety of perks, including the chance to win great items, play some of EA's newest games, and revisit some of their most beloved series and titles at your leisure. On top of that, members get a 10% discount on all digital content purchases made by EA.
In addition to those changes, EA SPORTS PGA TOUR's Store rotation now includes Jack Nicklaus' swing animation, including the new "Starter Bundle" which is a money pack and a set of rare specifications. Some new fashion products, as well as the Scotty Cameron Circle T putters, TaylorMade Qi10 Drivers, and other golfing gear, have been added to the store rotation.
Not to mention that the matchmaking search timeout has been raised from 2 minutes to 5 minutes. The devs have also changed the color of the left-handed "TaylorMade MySpider - Red" putter from red to white, including the swing animation "Into Out" which has been updated. The Career mode lobbies now allow you to change your clothing and in the Academic Program, several misplaced plants and bunker footprint decals (Kiawah) have been repositioned and the picture of Patrick Cantlay has been updated. Also at the store, The "Sweep" and "Into Out" swing animations now have current thumbnail icons. And, of course, the devs have fixed several more issues with crashes and stability.
EA SPORTS PGA TOUR came out last year and it is by far one of the best Golf simulations we've played so far. So if you're a fan of golf and haven't picked it up yet, now would be the perfect time to swing your golf clubs.
