Free Kid Icarus For 3DS

News by Daavpuke on  Dec 02, 2011

It’s officially December, which means some of you will have finally shaved; I know I have. On more relevant news, the holiday season is truly kicking in and it’s the perfect time for publishers to be generous. As such, Nintendo is offering a free download of NES classic, Kid Icarus, for anyone that redeems 2 new 3DS games at Club Nintendo between November 1 and January 31, 2012. Consumers will receive a code upon January 5th, when 3D Classics: Kid Icarus becomes exclusively available for them, for a period of time before regular release.

There is however a small catch, which only gives eligible games this right. Those games feature:

·         Resident Evil™: Revelations

·         Mario Kart™ 7

·         Super Pokémon™ Rumble

·         SUPER MARIO 3D LAND™

·         Tetris™

·         Star Fox 64™ 3D

·         Resident Evil™: The Mercenaries 3D

·         The Legend of Zelda™ : Ocarina of Time 3D

·         DEAD OR ALIVE™ Dimensions

·         Steel Diver™

·         nintendogs™ + cats

·         Pilotwings Resort™

·         Super Street Fighter ™ IV 3D Edition

If we can be so bold: The probability of most 3DS owners eventually getting at least 2 of these titles is rather vast, so we suggest doing so now and benefitting from it. In addition, entrants can also participate in a contest, dixit Nintendo: “Once two of the selected Nintendo 3DS games have been registered, European Club Nintendo members over the age of 18 will also be able to enter a draw to try and win one of only 3,000 limited edition Mario-themed Nintendo 3DS systems. You are allowed to enter up to five times (which means registering 10 games) and there are 1,000 Mario, 1,000 Princess Peach and 1,000 Toad systems to be won across Europe.”

One of these could be yours.

Conveniently enough, Mario Kart 7 is out now in the US and will shortly follow in Europe. Why not pick that one and perhaps recently released Super Mario 3D Land? It’s just a suggestion, but here’s a review that might entice you. And to commemorate the karting release, I’ve also prepared a retrospective review of Mario Kart DS.

Happy holidays.
