Homefront Developer Shuts Down

I reluctantly love to be the bearer of bad news. Whenever something goes bad, I feel it’s my need to inform the crowd, so this may happen less in the future. This time around, the lay-offs have hit another major studio with a major release.

Thanks to gamerant.com for this cool overview picture of Homefront.
Homefront developer Kaos, whom also developed the awful Red Faction: Battlegrounds, is said to close down together with previously name Juice Games, Digital Warrington. These guys dodged a bullet once when Acclaim went belly up, but it seems that lightning doesn’t strike twice. THQ reports that it is doing a “strategic realignment” and noted in a statement: "THQ continues its strategy of aligning the best industry talent with the company’s marquee franchises." This is the second time the studio is set with lay-offs, since our previous report; but this is the final cut.
This doesn’t mean that support on Homefront is getting shut down, since THQ had mentioned earlier to still believe in the IP, despite disappointing reviews, such as our own review, and a stock market descent. Their development studio in Montreal will now take over any work still ongoing for the title.

"Home is where the war is," seems morbidly appropriate right now for Kaos...
Yet again, a whole bunch of people are getting the boot and that’s sad every time. As always, our hearts go out to those affected and we hope they bounce back with another job and an awesome new project. When life gives you lemons, demand to see life’s manager!
