During the X018 series of announcements, Microsoft announced that they've acquired Fallout: New Vegas, South Park: The Stick of Truth, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II developers Obsidian Entertainment and inXile Entertainment.
inXile is known for their work on games such as Wasteland and The Bard’s Tale adding to Microsoft already growing list of studios. Microsoft also recently obtained Ninja Theory, Compulsion Games, Undead Labs, Playground Games and The Initiative.
It's clear that Microsoft is dialing up the initiative to develop more first-party games by building their studios up. This could mean a promising future for the Xbox One or Microsoft's next console.
