New Metal Gear Game Set in an Alternate Timeline

Konami has confirmed that the next game in the popular Metal Gear franchise to be a cooperative survive title called Metal Gear Survive.
Set in an alternate timeline following the conclusion of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes players take control of soldiers employed by Metal Gear Solid V's Mother Base. These men and woman must survive "massive threats" and attempt to return home.
The game will feature four-player action that "takes a divergent look at familiar Metal Gear themes and pursues a fresh spirit of exploration in unique gameplay mechanics". Players can expect new weapons, creatures, and "lethal environments".
The environments are hazardous due to destroyed landscapes, living biological threats, and a military force. Whether the foes from The Phantom Pain will be feature has yet to be confirmed.
Metal Gear Survive is coming to Xbox One, PS4, and PC in 2017.
