Nintendo Plans to Sell Trophies in Super Smash Bros. 3DS

Since their introduction in Super Smash Bros., Melee trophies have become a popular addition to the franchise for dedicated gamers. Collecting these alluring items offers new challenges for gamers who are looking to fully complete Nintendo's popular brawler. Today Nintendo's Masahiro Sakurai announced that Nintendo is planning to make rare trophies in Super Smash Bros. 3DS available for purchase.
"Here's something new -- the trophy shop. If you're having a hard time getting certain trophies, why not just buy them? They sometimes go on sale, too," Sakurai posted on Miiverse. Sakurai hinted that the 3DS version may have more trophies than Brawl, showcasing a photo of the Dr. Wily trophy in the game's gallery.
It's unknown if some of these trophies will be reserved for completing objectives or if all will be available for purchase. Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 3DS will release on October 3, 2014.
