OnLive War Rages
News by Craig Bryan on Apr 02, 2009
Steve Perlman, founder of OnLive has been defending recent claims that his service simply will not work. He explained how his network has been in development for seven years, and they have put literally tens of thousands of man hours into making sure everything runs smoothly. He continued by saying he already has nine of the biggest game publishers signed up to his service and that none of them would have allowed their name to be associated with it unless they had reviewed such technology first.
A piece on Eurogamer tends to disagree, stating that realistically there is absolutely no way this can work to the extent suggested, and that it simply won’t be able to provide gamers with the same experience that they get now. Stating that tech demos are running in controlled environments and when it comes time to launch there will be a whole host of impossible challengers for the service to overcome.
I guess only time will tell who’s right.
OnLive is rumoured for release later this year or early into next.
