It's been a long 42 years since PAC-MAN arrived! On May 22, 1980, the waka-waka video game character first appeared in arcades. On the occasion of the iconic video game's 42nd anniversary, Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. has partnered with Epic Games to add PAC-MAN-themed products to Fortnite and launched a contest to offer fans the possibility of winning the ultimate prize package.
Players will be able to explore 14 classic PAC-MAN games in PAC-MAN MUSEUM+, which comes out on May 27 and includes some that haven't been accessible for years. With Xbox Play Anywhere compatibility, PAC-MAN MUSEUM+ is coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC soon. The game will also be playable on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and available on Xbox Game Pass at launch.
Bandai Namco knows that a birthday celebration isn't complete without music and entertainment, so they're going all out. There will be a new theme song and accompanying music video for our beloved PAC-MAN. Songwriters Kazuto Udetsu and Yoshihito Yano of Bandai Namco Studios Inc. penned the song sung by Kaho Kidoguchi, a Tokyo-based musician.
To mark the occasion, Epic Games is releasing PAC-MAN-themed cosmetics for Fortnite on June 2, allowing players the chance to show off their love for the iconic video game character.
For more than 40 years, PAC-MAN has provided pleasure to millions of people throughout the globe, and he's undoubtedly deserved all this attention. When it comes to repaying the favor he's received from his supporters, he's not going to disappoint, even on his birthday. The "PAC-MAN Birthday Sweepstakes" has begun and will continue until May 27, 2022, according to Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. More than a dozen prizes, including a Bandai Namco Legacy Edition PAC-MAN arcade machine from Arcade1Up, will be awarded five lucky winners.
