PSP Go re-launch rumor
News by David on Feb 05, 2010
The PSP Go, Sony's smaller, sleeker redesign of the PlayStation Portable, was an ambitious project that was universally considered a commercial flop. Having only sold almost 100 short of the 4,000 unit mark in Japan, the PSP Go has failed to deliver. Its new features were interesting, but the lack of a UMD drive -- not to mention the daunting $250 price tag -- didn't attract potential buyers.
But if what Gamervision's claiming is correct, that may soon change. According to their source, Sony is considering a re-launch of the PSP Go, stating that the launch is "imminent." The launch will be accompanied by a heavy marketing campaign to promote it; however, a price cut was not mentioned. Since the majority cried foul on its high price tag, it's more than likely that they'll issue it sometime in the future.
While this is only a rumor, Sony will most likely consider this option if they want the PSP Go to be a success.
