Slim PS3 Rumours Surface
News by Craig Bryan on May 14, 2009
It’s that time of the year again were E3 looms and rumours start to surface about potential new pieces of hardware and software, and the latest rumours hint at the possibility of a new slimmer Sony PlayStation 3.
There’s also talk that it will simply become available in different colours, perhaps a white or silver version to match the new Dualshock 3 controllers, but the fact that they used the word ‘redesign’ seems to indicate that it will be shape rather than colour that is set for a change.
The latest rumour seems to lead back to the website PlayStation Lifestyle, who believe it’s more likely to be a slimmer version as oppose to colour variations, "When we caught wind of this, the exact word “redesign” was used, which leaves me to believe that it is indeed a PS3 slim. Announcing a different color wouldn’t exactly warrant the term “redesign”."
If these rumours do indeed turn out to be true then it’s looking like a very promising E3 for Sony this year, after it has all but been confirmed that a new PS3 motion sensor controller is on it’s way - in an attempt to compete with Nintendo - as well as PSP Go!, which will be the latest iteration of the handheld.
