Sony Patent Hints at PS5 Faceplates Coming Soon

Remember when Sony launched a lawsuit against Dbrand for attempting to design PS5 faceplates? Well, the assumption was that Sony did this to prevent competition and it seems that is true with a patent surfacing showing Sony design plates.

As reported by OPattack Sony has designs for PS5 faceplates. This isn't new as Xbox 360 also had a system for the console. With Sony having so many exclusives on the horizon such as God of War Ragnarok and Horizon Forbidden West this would be the best way to promote these games while also getting third-party developers onboard instead of making an entirely new exclusive console.

At the same time, this makes Sony look incredibly bad. Destroying any competition and ensuring they're the only company making these plates.
