The String Arcade Music Album Preorders Are Live - Listen To Plants vs Zombies Now

Preorders for The String Arcade musical album are live now for anyone wanting to hear game tracks from a new perspective. In total, there are 15 arrangements from gaming’s classics throughout the ages. Here’s a full list:

This project comes from Dren McDonald, who completed a small Kickstarter last year to get this collection done. With a string quartet, McDonald alters the tunes once so familiar to a new interpretation. Four of the songs were arranged by Jason Poss, who also worked on the Lord of the Rings trilogy and World of Warcraft.

A digital download preorder costs $10. Two bonus tracks, one for Tron and one for Altered Beast, will only be available through a limited CD edition. This physical release is up for preorder at a price of $9.99 and will go on sale for $12 when the album drops on February 11, 2014.

All proceeds will be donated to the Alameda Music Project, which offers kids a musical education.
