War Thunder Rolls Out Ground Forces Expansion

After a brief Beta period, free-to-play game War Thunder has launched its Ground Forces expansion in the 1.41 update for real. As the name suggests, this allows for ground units to join the fight, where previously the multiplayer game focused mainly on aircrafts. Here’s a trailer to get you started.

Teams can be made up of planes and tanks alike. For now, ground units are available for the German and Soviet side, but more nations will be added later on. Comparatively with similar games like World of Tanks, vehicles in War Thunder come in light, medium or heavy builds. Additionally, player progression has been improved.  Just for giggles, ten new aircrafts are put into the Ground Forces update as well.

At the moment, the Ground Forces expansion of War Thunder is only available on the PC version of the game. A PS4 release date is said to be coming soon.
