ANNO: Mutationem Guide | All Side Missions in Noctis City
A guide on how to complete all side missions in Noctis City in ANNO: Mutationem.

During your time in ANNO: Mutationem, you spend most of your gameplay split between Skopp City and Noctis City. Compared to Skopp City, Noctis City is more hostile, and most of its side missions focus on combat encounters rather than exploration or dialogue.
Because of this, the quests here often demand proper positioning, timing, and awareness of enemy patterns. This guide walks you through every side mission found in Noctis City and Harbour Town, explaining what to do, where to go, and how to handle each fight so you can complete them without unnecessary confusion.

The Mortal Cornbat Tournament
You begin this mission by speaking to the sentient corn character known as Corn-Man. After talking to him, you agree to participate in a small tournament designed to promote his corn juice product. Once you accept, you are required to win three consecutive fights.
Your first opponent is a basic punching enemy you have already encountered earlier in the game. While parrying is possible, the timing can be inconsistent, so it is safer to roll past his attacks and strike from behind. The second opponent uses a bat and occasionally blocks your attacks. Rolling behind him remains the safest strategy. The final opponent is a knife-wielding punk who signals a slide attack by making a rude gesture. This move is easy to parry, but you can still rely on positioning behind him to avoid damage.
If your upgrades are limited, be cautious, as the knife user deals heavy damage. Once all three enemies are defeated, you receive Premium Corn Juice as your reward. If you are struggling, investing in Phantomstep can make this tournament much easier, as it allows you to reposition quickly and punish enemies from behind.
Find The Explosive Thief
This mission starts by speaking with the Weapon Shop Owner, who informs you that his explosives have been stolen. You are tasked with recovering them. You can use your scanner to track the thieves’ footprints, but if you prefer a faster approach, you can find them directly in an alley on the northwest side of Noctis City.
When you reach the thieves, you face three enemies at the same time in a tight space. One uses a knife, one carries a sword, and the most dangerous enemy dual-wields swords. The dual-wielding enemy can deal heavy damage if he lands his leap attack.
Your goal is to group all three enemies together, roll past them or use Phantomstep, and attack their backs. Avoid using slow weapons like the greatsword, as the long attack animations leave you vulnerable. Retreat when necessary to regain control of the fight. After defeating all three enemies and returning the explosives, you are rewarded with Twin Blades: Vapor and a Cryptokey.
Find The Client (The Quest For OK!-Chan)
To start this mission, interact with the OK!-Chan Billboard located in the center of Noctis City. After the dialogue finishes, accept the quest and head toward the southeast area of the map to speak with the Entertainment Journalist, who is holding a camera. He informs you that OK!-Chan is somewhere in the city.

Next, travel north to the street concert area and speak with the Fan Club President, who stands among the crowd watching the large hologram performance. Afterward, locate the Delivery Man, who is slightly south of the concert area. He reveals which building OK!-Chan lives in.
Enter the building he mentions and examine the first apartment you encounter. Looking through the keyhole, you will see a flyer with a written password. Use this password to unlock OK!-Chan’s apartment, which is the last room on the right on the top floor. After a short scene, you can return to the Entertainment Journalist to complete the quest. Regardless of your dialogue choices, you receive a Grom Upgrade Point.
The Underground Arena Battles
These optional fights become available after completing the Prison Freighter section of the game. You can access them at the Colosseum in Harbour Town. While the first fight is required for story progression, the remaining three battles are optional. Each optional fight rewards you with credits and a Grom Point.
Pyrofist
Pyrofist relies on slow, heavily telegraphed attacks, making him easy to read. He winds up before every strike, allowing you to parry consistently. Midway through the fight, he powers up and gains a fireball attack, but it is still easy to predict and roll through. Maintaining calm timing is enough to win this fight without much difficulty.
Eric Marcom
Eric Marcom uses attacks inspired by classic fighting games, including a dragon punch-style move. When he hops backward, he is preparing for a lunging punch that leads into an uppercut. These attacks have wide hitboxes and can hit you even when you are behind him.
Rather than parrying the lunge, it is safer to double jump over him and attack his back during recovery. He also uses a short three-hit combo that is easy to avoid or parry. While his damage output is high, patience and spacing make the fight manageable.
“The Unbeatable” Tai Long
Tai Long, the brother of Loki, fights in a similar manner to your earlier encounter with Loki. His sword attacks are slow and predictable but deal significant damage and have long reach. He occasionally uses a shoulder cannon, which leaves him open for counterattacks.
Be mindful of the follow-through on his sword swings, as they can hit behind him. Staying at his back is the safest approach. While you can parry his frontal attacks, positioning yourself behind him removes most of the risk. As long as you maintain spacing and awareness, the fight remains controlled.

The Man In Harbour Town’s Mysterious Package
This mission is missable, as there is no way to return to the Prison Freighter once that section is completed. To start this quest, you must locate the package while still aboard the ship.
After obtaining the Air-Dash, move to the back of the ship on the second floor, above the area where you fought the prison warden. Enter the previously locked door and proceed toward the front of the vessel. You must navigate through environmental hazards using air-dash to avoid fire walls.
Once inside, you face a large group of enemies, including dual-wielding attackers, a flamethrower user, flying drones, net gun enemies, and explosive throwers. You are also pressured by distant snipers who cannot be attacked.
First, focus on the target with the net gun. Being unable to move can quickly make you lose the fight. Next, get rid of the enemy with two weapons. Then, when the drones self-destruct, roll away to deal with them. Then take out the person with the flamethrower, and last, the person with the rocket launcher. To avoid damage from grenades, don't stop moving. If your transformation meter is full, using it can make this fight a lot easier.
You get the Mysterious Package after you clear the area. Go back to Harbour Town. There is a man standing near the water, and you can see a star on your map marking his location. If you give the package to someone, you will get a Cryptokey.
