Dave the Diver Guide | How to Go Bird Hunting

Unlock Bird Hunting with Marone and collect bird meat for Bancho Grill.

Bird Hunting is a short but useful activity in Dave the Diver: In the Jungle. It gives you Bird Meat for Bancho Grill and adds a fun side activity to Setah Forest. The key is unlocking Marone first, then using the hunting spots correctly so you do not waste the chance to collect meat.

How to Unlock Bird Hunting

Bird Hunting becomes available after you rescue Marone, the puppy, during the Setah Forest story route. After progressing through the main missions and returning to Utara Village in Chapter 4, speak with Cobra near Marone. This starts the Bird Hunting with Marone! sub-mission and introduces the hunting system.

Where to Start Bird Hunting

Bird Hunting spots are found around Setah Forest. Look for the marked bushes that can be interacted with. The swamp-side hunting spot is especially useful because it can produce better bird meat. When you activate the spot, Marone jumps into the bush and scares the birds into the air.

How the Bird Hunting Mini-Game Works

Each hunting spot sends out 10 birds. Your job is to shoot them as they fly away. On PC, use the Focus input to slow time, then fire when the bird is lined up. Focus makes the moving targets much easier to hit, especially when they fly across the screen quickly.

Every bird you shoot gives 1x Bird Meat. The possible birds include Sparrows, Quails, Ducks, and Pheasants. Sparrows and Quails are common, while Ducks and Pheasants are more valuable for Bancho Grill. Reload when Marone briefly appears from the grass, because that gives you a safer moment before the next birds fly out.

Best Use for Bird Meat

Take the meat back to Bancho Grill and use it in recipes or service planning. Bird Meat helps diversify the menu beyond freshwater fish, and stronger meat types can improve the value of your dishes. If you are farming Doni, revisit hunting spots whenever you need extra restaurant ingredients.
