Unlock Beetle Battles in the In The Jungle DLC by finding Beetles, repairing the Bug Net, and starting your first insect fight.

Beetle Battles are a new Rock-Paper-Scissors-style mini-game added in Dave The Diver’s In The Jungle DLC. To unlock them, you first need access to the Bug Net. Once the Bug Net is available, the next step is to find either a Stag Beetle or a Rhinoceros Beetle in Utaru Village.

Find A Beetle In Utaru Village

Go to the top right corner of Utaru Village during the day, close to the Bamboo Forest. There is a Beetle on this tree. Look for either a Stag Beetle or a Rhinoceros Beetle in this area. Once you approach it, a cutscene will trigger.

Speak To Moona After The Bug Net Breaks

After the failed catch, the Bug Net will break. Go and speak to Moona about repairing it. During this conversation, Udo The Photographer will appear and explain the proper way to catch bugs. He will also give you your own Bug, which is needed to begin Beetle Battles.

Start Your First Beetle Battle

After receiving your Bug, return toward the Beach area. Look around the trees for another wild Bug. If one does not appear right away, keep searching nearby and listen for the beeping sound that means a Bug is close.

Dave the Diver Guide Beetle Battle

Once you find a wild Bug, approach it to unlock your first Beetle Battle. Winning Beetle Battles will add more insects to your collection, similar to how Seahorse Racing works in Sea People Village.
