Your goal is to find all 8 Eldritch Idols before the countdown to day 40.

Before we look at the Idol locations, it is important to know about Rain Serpents;

  • Rain Serpents progressively spawn after each newly found Idol.
  • They are mandatory to progress in the game and have fixed spawn locations and destinations.
  • Every Rain Serpent is a One-Way gate to an exclusive place.
  • The only exception is the Rain Serpent northwest of the Crimson Basin, which connects to another serpent in the Western Stalker Well building.

1. Idol of Betrayal

  • Pacify (120s cooldown): causes small enemies in an area around you to become pacified for 15 seconds.
  • Dark arts: survivors regain 3/5/7/10 sanity every day.

Location: The Idol of Betrayal is the first Idol you can find; it is located right in front of the Ruined Building opening.

2. Idol of Loss

  • Disincarnate (once per dive): ghost back to the surface, leaving all droppable items behind and losing half your current HP and sanity.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
  • Dark arts: lighthouse expeditions have a +1/2/3/4% success rate per dead survivor, up to +8/16/24/32%.

Location: Eastern Farmlands tunnel to the right

3. Idol of Severance

  • Farewell (120s cooldown): You are carried by Eldritch forces, doubling movement speed and making you immune to slows for 10 seconds.
  • Dark arts: Divers have +3/6/9/12% swimming speed.

Location: In a narrow tunnelway attached to the left side of the Western Stalkerwell.

4. Idol of Respite

  • Haven (once per dive): You restore 35% of your maximum oxygen.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
  • Dark arts: -1/2/3/4 total camp nutrition and morale upkeep.

Location: In a tunnel connecting Eastern Stalkerwell and The Crimson Basin

5. Idol of Ruin

  • Ruin (120s cooldown): destroys enemies and resources in a small area around you. Unkillable enemies get interrupted and pacified for 3 seconds.
  • Dark arts: survivors earn +20/30/40/50% experience for each negative condition they have.

Location: Right side of The Graveyard

6. Idol of Drowning

  • Last breath (once per dive): For 45 seconds, health, sanity, and oxygen cannot change. At the end of the duration, you die.
  • Dark arts: Divers have +10/15/20/25% oxygen capacity.

Location: The end of a long tunnel on the right side of Eastern Farmlands, under where you found the Idol of Loss.

7. Idol of Worship

  • Hear our prayer (once per dive): summons 1 to 3 random Boon fish around your position.
  • Dark arts: offering Worship gauge increases have +20/+40/+60/+80% magnitude; burning items as tribute grants +50/+75/+100/+125% experience.

Location: Tunnel on the left near the entrance of The Chasm

8. Idol of Judgment

  • Tides of time (300s cooldown): when used, records your position and status. 10 seconds later, you are teleported back to that initial position, with the initial status.
  • Dark arts: recruited survivors have +1/2/3/4 level(s).

Location: Near the entrance of Western Stalkerwell, on the right side of the tunnel.

Sacrificial Altars

Sacrificial Altars are another important point of interest in DIVE or DIE: Children of Rain. These locations are usually recognizable by their ominous appearance and ritualistic surroundings.

Before you get to altars, you must also know about blessed resources;

There are few ways to obtain Blessed Resources.

  • Using Gazing Moon events (temporary)
  • Sending expeditions at the Garguan Carcass or the Mysterious Pyramid (few selected items and RNG-bound)
  • Possible drops inside the Chapels at the Crimson Basin (unreliable)
  • By sacrificing a perfectly willing diver at a designated altar in each biome (permanent)
