You'll have to step through the doorway to reach the Book Altar Room. You will see the last Book needed for the rite sitting on the floor. This completes your set for Chapter 3: The Hidden Ceremony. Take the item and walk over to the Book Altar.

The Altar Sequence

You have to change the spots of the books to finish the puzzle. Read the red words on the Book Altar which are Butterfly's, Sacrifice, Retracted, Kusabi, and Repent.

Look at the pages of every Book to see which one matches those specific words. Place the Red Book first, then the Green Book, followed by the Black Book, the Blue Book, and finally the White Book in FATAL FRAME II: Crimson Butterfly REMAKE.

Finding the Keys

Once the books are in order, retrieve the Light Key from the Book Altar. With both the Light and Shadow Keys, head back to the Cell Room. Use the door to unlock the Cell.

You need to crouch to get inside. Check the table on the left side of the room to find the Mallet Key.
