From Chapter 2, Fina can focus on magical damage in Final Fantasy Resonance rather than healing alone. This build lets you repeat Holy Ray without spending another character's MP to refill her Limit Burst (LB) gauge. Other party members handle most of the staggering while Fina takes advantage of the bonus phase to deal heavy magic damage.
Equip Terra and Build Around Holy Ray
Fina's main vision is Terra. Holy Ray does Light magic damage and scales with Sanctity, so make sure to focus on Sanctity on her gear.

Unlock Magic Boost via Terra’s Mastery Rank. It doubles the damage of a chosen magic attack, but increases its MP cost by 50%. Holy Ray is a Limit Burst, not an MP spell, so this combo gives a nice boost without the usual MP drawback.
Terra also has Tenebrous Rites, which raises magic attacks against debuffed targets, and Sharp Mind, which aids a multi-target attack when only one enemy is left. Magic Attack +30% boosts her spell damage, and Add Deshell can help reduce enemy magic defenses.
Add Auto-Faith and the Ring of Rage
During Chapter 2, you can obtain a Magicite and use it to raise Terra to Awakening 2, unlocking Auto-Faith. This maintains Faith without repeated casting.
Equip the Ring of Rage as an accessory. It fills the LB gauge whenever its wearer takes damage. Have a teammate hit Fina deliberately to trigger it. This costs an action but saves MP.
Use a low-damage attack for this setup, and keep Fina's HP high enough to survive the hit. An attack that misses will not trigger the accessory.
Learn the Essential LB Abilities
Take Fill LB on Defeating Foes, Scan and Strike, and Bonus Damage from Noctis. Defeating ordinary enemies will then build her LB gauge. Scan and Strike helps when Holy Ray hits an enemy weak to Light that has already been analyzed with Libra. Bonus Damage increases output during the bonus phase.
Add LB Triple Charge from Onion Knight. This triples the rate at which the gauge fills. Fill Gauge, learned through Cloud, gives 25% normally, or 75% with LB Triple Charge equipped.
When Fina takes a hit with Ring of Rage, the accessory's usual 10% becomes 30% with LB Triple Charge. One use of Fill Gauge and one friendly hit can therefore finish a gauge from empty.

With spare AP, consider Observe and Recover HP or Vigorous Attacks. Spirit of Onion Knight activates its Mastery abilities, including Spry Steps, which provides a chance to evade magic damage.
Use Different Rotations for Enemies and Bosses
Against normal groups, aim for a quick kill first. Fill LB on Defeating Foes and LB Triple Charge to rapidly prepare Holy Ray. Use Magic Boost and fire Holy Ray, preferably while the target is staggered or debuffed.
Against a boss without easy finishing blows, use Fill Gauge, have an ally strike Fina to activate Ring of Rage, then unleash Magic Boost with Holy Ray. Heal Fina afterward and repeat. She can still heal or buff allies when needed.
This early Fina build combines Terra's magic bonuses, Onion Knight's LB Triple Charge, and Ring of Rage to keep Holy Ray available in longer fights.
FAQ
Q. Does Holy Ray consume MP?
A. No. Holy Ray uses Fina's Limit Burst gauge, which is why it works well with Magic Boost.
Q. Why equip Ring of Rage on Fina?
A. It restores LB gauge when Fina takes damage. With LB Triple Charge, its usual 10% gauge gain rises to 30%.
