In Final Fantasy Resonance, Lasswell can become an evasive tank and stagger breaker as early as Chapter 2. By repeatedly charging his Limit Burst, Null Moon, he makes bosses easier for the whole party to stagger.

Equip Warrior of Light on Lasswell

Set Warrior of Light as Lasswell's equipped Vision. Its first Awakening tier provides Stagger Power +30% and Physical Defense +20%. The second tier adds Shell at Half HP and Deprotect on Stagger. Full Awakening isn't required.

Raise Warrior of Light to Mastery Rank 3 on Lasswell to unlock Multi-Cover. The priority is taking attacks for your teammates and turning them into another Null Moon.

Add Evasion and Ring of Rage

Learn Reflex from Noctis at Mastery Rank 3 for a 25% chance to evade physical attacks. Then learn Spry Steps from Onion Knight at Mastery Rank 3, giving another 25% chance to evade magic attacks. Equip both on Lasswell alongside Ring of Rage, an accessory that fills the Limit Burst (LB) gauge by 10% when its wearer takes damage.

The important interaction is that Ring of Rage can charge the gauge even when Lasswell evades an incoming attack. This makes evasion useful for both survival and Limit Burst generation. Add LB Double Charge from Terra's Mastery Rank 5 when available, or LB Triple Charge from Onion Knight's Mastery Rank 9 as a stronger upgrade. Both strengthen the ring setup.

Improve Stagger and Recovery

Equip Insult to Injury from Zidane's Mastery Rank 3. It increases stagger power against enemies affected by debuffs or status ailments. It complements Null Moon's three-turn stagger debuff. Tronn's Stagger Power +20% Mastery passive is another useful addition if you have enough Ability Points (AP).

For remaining AP, consider Onion Knight's Observe and Recover HP, Tronn's Restore MP on Stagger, or Leah's First Aid and Healing Magic +10%. Fill Gauge is less important because Ring of Rage already charges LB.

Use Provoke, Multi-Cover, and Null Moon

Start battles by drawing enemy attention. Vanguard Glaive inflicts Provoke on one target, making it preferable when a powerful enemy should focus on Lasswell. Multi-Cover instead lets Lasswell take attacks for the entire party. Use it against group attacks, but remember multiple hits can knock him out. Keep Phoenix Downs available.

Once enemy attacks fill his gauge, use Null Moon on the boss. Its non-elemental physical hit makes the target easier to stagger for three turns. Repeat as the gauge refills. If the gauge is almost full, a weak self-attack may trigger the ring, but hitting yourself costs HP. Otherwise, heal or buff.

Let Rain exploit stagger openings, keep a healer ready, and use Fina for magic damage.

The early Lasswell build works by pairing Warrior of Light's protection with evasion and Ring of Rage, then using Null Moon repeatedly to make bosses easier to stagger.
