Ghost of Yōtei is a sequel that builds on what made Tsushima so popular while also taking some risks, some of which are brave and some of which are controversial. 

Charms are a fundamental aspect of Ghost of Yōtei; they can entirely change how combat works, especially when you use multiple together. 

Different charms will enhance different aspects of combat, from healing to equipment to other elemental effects. Here are some of the most powerful charms that the game has to offer.

Charm of Raining Arrows

This charm will allow you to fire arrows from a bows without having to manually aim. This makes using the bow faster and instinctive.

Do keep in mind that head shots are disabled when using this charm, but overall damage will be increased.

When you pair it with the Dragonfly Armor and other arrow damage boosts, you’ll be able to take down most of the enemies with one or two shots.

If you combine this charm with elemental aero types to increase this effectiveness, using fire arrows will burn through shields, whilst poison arrows will deal damage over time as well as stagger them.

You’ll be able to get your hands on this charm by visiting Teshio Ridge and completing the quest there. Once you unlock it becomes the base of most ranged combat builds.

Charm of Soaring Focus

When you pair this charm with the Raining Arrows charm, it will create one of the best ranged combinations in the game. This charm grants you infinite concentration whilst aiming a bow during a jump. 

This combination will allow you to spam arrows, midair, and in rapid succession.

The charm is an endgame reward that is earned by defeating enemies at the Yōtei’s Shadow Inn.

Charm of True Aim

Another ranged combat charm, this allows you to lock on three enemies and fire three arrows simultaneously at them, inflicting a lot of damage. You’ll also be allowed to use different ammo types with it, such as explosive ammo.

You’ll be able to unlock this by listening to a mythic tale located in Husko Kotan; you want to follow the story to its conclusion to claim it.

Charm of Stolen Flame

This charm allows you to ignite your weapon by parrying a fire attack or blocking a fire arrow. When it is lit, it becomes unblocked allow allowing you to continuously attack enemies. 

You could also try keeping the fire archer alive until the end, when in combat, to reignite when the effect wears off.

You’ll be able to get your hands on the charm by going to the Oni’s Breath Inn in Ishikari Plains, where you will need to wear a mask to enter. Any mask will work, and you’ll need to play two rounds of the coin game.

Charm of Fire Mastery 

When you pair it with the Stolen Flame Charm, this charm will significantly booze the damage and the spread of fire during combat.

Doing heavy tracks with this charm causes enemies to ignite, and throwable objects will also become burning projectiles, allowing you to clear your big group quickly.

To get your hands on the charm, you’ll need to visit the Ishikari Market and then challenge opponents in the coin game, but you must win as well. 

Charm of Masaka

If you are aiming for a more survivalist build, this charm might be for you. When you fully upgrade restores up to 40% of your total health.

You’ll be able to get it in the Teshio Ridge.

The Charm of Izanagi is even stronger.

This charm is probably the strongest healing charm in the game. It will grant you healing recovery each time you assassinate someone.

But you only need to upgrade it for it to give you a significant health boost. Your entire health bar and restored in just two kills. It also pairs well with other assassination skills.

You’ll be able to find it in Sun’s Peak Shrine in Ishikari Plains.

Charm of Masakado

This Charm basically enhances the Onryō’s Will ability, reviving you at full health instead of partial recovery.

You’ll be able to find it on the Amber Resprite Shrine.

Charm of the Last Chance & Charm of the Stout Heart

These charms both combined, are one of the best survivalist combinations in the game. The Last Chance heals automatically when you suffer from a lot of damage in combat.

And the Stout Heart increases the potency of the heal technique.

You’ll be able to get it from a Dueling Tree and two upgraded you’ll need to rasta enemies with Sake jars.

Charm of the Blind Drunk

This charm will increase the effectiveness of using Sake jars by blinding enemies whenever you hit them with Sake jars.

This charm is earned by completing by playing the coin game at Kuttara Gambling Den.

Mount Yōtei Shrine Charms

It’s one of the best combat charms in the game. When you upgrade it, you’ll get a boost in arrow damage and better parry-based healing.

To get it, you’ll need to complete five shrine puzzles found in the region.

A charm system in the game allows you to customize your combat setup. Combining various charms will help you create a perfectly balanced build.
