The Closed-Off Building is situated in the western region of the Crimson Forest within Teshio Ridge. You can reach it by traveling west from the Red Crane Inn. This area features a puzzle that must be solved to gain entry to the building in Ghost of Yōtei.

Understanding the Puzzle

In front of the building, you will see two straw scarecrows, each with a Fox Statue resting on top. The Nine Tails’ Cipher provides the key to solving this puzzle. According to the cipher, the icon on the left represents death, and the symbol on the right stands for engagement. These meanings guide which lanterns need to be lit to unlock the building.

Lighting the Correct Lanterns

Equip a torch and light the lanterns that have crouching Fox Statues above them. You will find two pairs of Fox Statues in front of the building. For each pair, light the lantern on the left side. Once both of these lanterns are lit, the sealed door will open in Ghost of Yōtei.

Unlocking the Reward

After finishing the lantern sequence, the building's entrance will become available. Entering will grant you the Altar of Reflection, your prize for solving the puzzle.
