Here’s how you can get the From the Hip trophy.

The From the Hip trophy in Ghost of Yōtei can be acquired by successfully performing a pistol parry during a stand-off. It can be a bit tricky as it requires you to get a specific skill and precisely time your parry.

This guidewill show you how you can get your hands on the trophy.

Getting the Pistol

To attempt to get the trophy, you’ll obviously need a pistol. The weapon becomes available once you complete the main story arcs of The Oni and The Kitsune, after the first encounter with Nariaki Saitto.

Once Chapter 2 starts, The Storm Breaks quest will require you to go to the Oshima Coast, where you'll be able to get the pistol.

To acquire it, you’ll need to travel to the coast and finish the side quest Guns and Consequences. After which, you will have the pistol.

It’s also important that you don't complete the Burning of Castle Ishikari before getting the trophy, as it

will remove most of the enemies from the castle.

After getting the pistol, you’ll need to unlock two abilities from the Revenge Attacks skill tree, which you can unlock by going to the Altars of Reflection.

The abilities you need to unlock are the Standoff Streak and Standoff Unlock: Pistol, which will allow you to pistol parry.

Once these abilities are attained, head to the Ishikari Castle in the Ishikari Plains. You can also head toward any enemy camp that allows you to stand off. Though the Ishikari Castle is an ideal location for this.

During the stand-off encounter, equip the pistol by holding R2 and pressing L1. After taking down the first two enemies, you will be rushed, and at that exact moment, press R1 (or equivalent).

If the parry is completed successfully, you will immediately get the From the Hip trophy.
