A Flower for Your Thoughts is a side tale in Ghost of Yotei, available during Chapter 1 – The Lone Wolf in the Tokachi Range region. This quest begins after completing the Prologue and is initiated through a Note found near the Amber Respite Shrine.

The note requests that you leave your regrets in a basket with blue flowers located along the trail leading to the shrine. Finishing this side tale rewards you with a Minor Utility Charm in Ghost of Yōtei.

Starting Location

You can begin this side tale at the Amber Respite Shrine, found high within the mountains of the Tokachi Range. To start the quest, climb to the top of the shrine and examine the Note that contains the request. Once the tale begins, your goal is to collect several blue flowers and return them to a basket near the shrine entrance.

Collecting the Blue Flowers

After activating the quest, make your way to the top of the Amber Respite Shrine. Once you arrive, take a moment to pray at the altar to complete the shrine itself. Afterward, slide down the hill to the left to continue the side tale.

At the bottom of the slope, you will find a large lake surrounded by rocks and trees. Here, you must locate three Hydrangea Flowers, which serve as the blue flowers of forgiveness. The first flower is found near the waterfall on your right, hidden within an alcove formed by the rocks in Ghost of Yōtei.

The second flower is positioned near another waterfall that cascades downward toward the lower area of the shrine. The third flower is located on the far left side of the lake, through a small group of trees that lead toward the edge of the cliff. Collect all three flowers before moving on to the next objective.

Placing the Flowers

Once all three Hydrangea Flowers have been collected, return to the spot where the side tale began at the base of the Amber Respite Shrine.

There, you will find a basket placed beside the shrine entrance. Interact with the basket to put the flowers inside. This completes the task described in the Note, marking the A Flower for Your Thoughts side tale as finished in Ghost of Yōtei.
