In Ghost Of Yōtei, the Oni Flame is a Quickfire item that allows you to imbue your weapon with fire for a short duration during combat. This guide explains how to get it, how to use it effectively, and how to upgrade and replenish its capacity when needed.

Using The Oni Flame

Once you obtain the Oni Flame, you can activate it by pressing R1. This will coat your weapon in fire, and the effect lasts approximately 30 seconds before wearing off. This temporary enhancement can be applied repeatedly as long as you have enough resources to refill the item in Ghost of Yōtei.

Getting The Oni Flame

You will get the Oni Flame naturally as you progress through the main story. It becomes available during the Twin Wolves, Twin Hearts mission. There is no special requirement other than reaching this mission through normal gameplay.

Upgrading The Oni Flame

To increase the capacity of your Oni Flame, travel to the Taro the Scavenger. In this location, you can upgrade your Quickfire item. You can interact with the designated NPC here to upgrade it. If it is fully upgraded, no further improvements can be made in Ghost of Yōtei.

Crafting And Refilling Oni Flame

If your Oni Flame runs out, you can replenish it at any camp. Open the Craft Ammo menu, go to Consumables, and select the Oni Flames. Crafting them requires 1 Sake and 3 Black Powder. Once crafted, the item will be refilled and ready for use again in combat in Ghost of Yōtei.

Combat Application

During a fight, you can use the Oni Flame to make your attacks do more fire damage. You can put it back on whenever the effect wears off to maintain the buff. When fighting enemies at a distance, such as bow users, be cautious because they can block your hits if you're not careful.

The Oni Flame also works effectively when combined with other abilities or items, allowing for flexible strategies during encounters in Ghost of Yōtei.
