You can locate Pollywog in Winter Burrow during the Find Pollywog quest from Bufo. Pollywog leaves after a conflict with Bufo, and Bufo later asks you to check on them. Since Bufo cannot move through the wilderness, you take on the task.
You can reach Pollywog by traveling south from Bufo’s House, but the route requires time and a Granite Pickaxe. You can bring cooked meals that boost cold resistance, as low temperatures can reduce health over time in Winter Burrow.

Getting the Granite Pickaxe
You can get the Granite Pickaxe recipe from Bufo after finishing the An Axe For Bufo quest. After receiving the recipe, you can return to your burrow and craft the tool.
You need 1 Granite from the land near Bufo’s House, 1 Wool Yarn knitted from Fur Tufts, 1 Pinewood from Shadow Forest, and 1 Oak Wood from the land outside Bufo’s House. After crafting it, you can place the pickaxe in your quick-grab slot and prepare your inventory for travel.

Starting From Bufo’s House
You can begin at Bufo’s House, warm up, and leave through the south-west exit. You can move south while staying along the water's edge in Winter Burrow.
When you reach a point where movement stops, you can turn left and look toward the lower section of your screen for stone boulders. You can break these boulders to open a path leading south into the next zone.

Reaching the Granite Boulders
You can continue south in the next zone until you pass through a tall patch of grass. After moving through it, head down and then right. This route leads to a log tunnel blocked by Granite boulders. You can use the Granite Pickaxe to break the blockage and then move right into the next zone.
You can keep moving right while staying near the lower section of your screen. Soon, you can notice broken log tunnels that lead downward and then right. You can follow these tunnels until they open into a small clearing in Winter Burrow.
A Wood Beetle waits in this space, and you can deal with it before continuing. After that, you can head south through another tall patch of grass. Once you exit the grass, you can move left around the area. You will then find Pollywog sitting near a fire.
