Capybara Games has announced that its long-awaited indie rogue-like, Below, finally has a release date. The news comes a bit over five years after its initial reveal at E3 2013, time during which the game has suffered a number of delays. A trailer was also released, celebrating the announcement while showcasing some of Below's gameplay.

Below is a rogue-like that sends players into "a large, interconnected underworld crawling with cunning wildlife, deadly traps and stalked by a shadowy presence". Its levels are randomly generated, while a permadeath mechanic will make players constantly watch their step, especially as the game offers no hints as guidance.
What's been shown thusfar suggests an isolated journey where sword, shield and light are your only allies, and that sounds like something that's, perhaps ill-advisedly, straight up my alley. Below is out on December 14th on Xbox One and PC.
