Team21 recently started their Kickstarter Campaign to collect $60,000 to fund their old school dungeon crawler Dungeons of Aledorn.  The Kickstarter states that this title will follow a more D&D style of RPG, giving the player branching dialogue options, questing, tactical turn-based combat, massive amounts of exploration, difficulty, and a complex RPG leveling system:

The gameplay will have a degree of realism to it, giving the players multiple options and strategies for what they can do in each and every situation. It won’t be limited to just two choices; it’ll be multiple choices with multiple outcomes for the player to have.  Character creation will have an impact with the classes you choose, and giving you different racial traits depending on your choice of race. Some classes may fit certain races better than others. The player will have to manage their party and inventory, managing all of this with the finesse of a general leading a group to battle. With control of each party member, the player has the ability to turn the tide of battle on a dime.

The quests are said to have multiple ways to complete them, and the characters themselves can do it in multiple ways, giving a near endless amount of possibilities for your adventure.  Dialogue options give you various ways to interact with the characters and give you some much desired moral greyness to the options in case that’s how you want to play your character.

The story of the game is that you’re a wandering adventurer who finds themself the half-blood noble child of Aledorn III, meaning you are the heir to a very decadent throne. Your character decides to go to the land of Aledorn and attempt to save it from what is troubling it – and to claim the throne so they can drink a lot of alcohol. Yes, your character is slightly alcoholic.

The Early Bird special for the campaign is still available for $9, which will give you a digital copy of the game. If that runs out you can get it for $15. The final and most extravagant tier, rightfully called ‘Cosmic Ruler’ for $10,000 includes the following:

“All of the Above - Same as Ancient Demigod, but you also get a one of a kind slipcase for your boxed copies of DoA. How special is this slipcase? It is made of hand-carved wood and features the Dungeons of Aledorn logo in 24k gold. Yes, you read that right, in real 24k gold. We'll only make one copy of this slipcase and it's all yours! You'll also receive a diamond ring (real diamond!) that will be created to look like a ring from DoA. It will include a certificate stating the diamond's 4 Cs (Color, Clarity, Cut and Carat Weight), and yes, this will the only ring we'll make.

And on top of that, international shipping for your physical rewards is on us!

TRAVEL, FOOD AND LODGING NOT INCLUDED)”

Dungeons of Aledorn will be available on PC, Mac and Linux, and is estimated to release in 2017 according to its Kickstarter. It also has a Steam Greenlight page.  We will update you as the story develops.
