EA officially announced today that it plans to bring the Command & Conquer series back to PC, starting with remasters for the first two games in the series: Command & Conquer, also known by its working title Tiberian Dawn, and Command & Conquer: Red Alert. Not only that, but the three expansion packs, Covert Ops, Counterstrike, and Aftermath, “will be bundled with the base games into one remastered collection - without microtransactions.”, as the announcement post puts it.

EA has partnered with Petroglyph Games, studio which includes lots of former Westwood Staff, to develop the Command & Conquer remasters, while Frank Klepacki will return to take on the roles of Composer and Audio Director. Furthermore, Lemon Sky Games has been enlisted to help bring the remasters to 4K. Development hasn’t started yet, so it will most likely be a while before we’ll get our hands on the remasters. The remaster announcement will surely be a ray of sunshine for fans disappointed by the E3 Command & Conquer: Rivals announcement.
