We finally have confirmation on when we will finally be able to see the gameplay reveal for Mortal Kombat 1. The developers of the game, NetherRealm Studios have been teasing non-stop about the upcoming projects and have been dropping hints left, right and center, and it would seem that players’ patience has finally paid off. In a trailer that was shared last Thursday, it is revealed it will be resetting the entire timeline of the Mortal Kombat franchise as a whole. The reveal has left many fans curious as to what type of combat we can expect in the new game, and it would appear that we don't have to wait that long.
The trailer that we are shown is only about 10 seconds long, which is spent focusing on the gratuitous violence that have become a staple for the fighting game franchise. We are even given an incredibly cinematic rendition of a fatality. However, it is yet to be confirmed if what was shown in the trailer is a CG render or is in fact actual footage, even then, the amount of detail that was put into the trailer is impressive in its own right. If one thing is for sure, it is that the trailer has left fans pumped to see what is to come.
Now with most major announcements, game studios and publishers tend to try to keep things very hush-hush, leaving fans in the dark until the project gets revealed at one of the many game presentations. However, NetherRealm Studios has decided not to keep fans waiting and has given confirmation as to when they will officially reveal gameplay footage. In a post made by the official Summer Game Fest Twitter account, which posted, "Don't miss the world gameplay premiere of Mortal Kombat 1 when Ed Boon joins Geoff Keighley live on stage at Summer Game Fest on Thursday, June 8."
This post confirms that not only will we be getting an official gameplay reveal, but Mortal Kombat co-creator, Ed Boon will be attending the June digital presentation and will be presenting said gameplay reveal himself. For those of you who aren't familiar, The Summer Game Fest is an online game showcase that is taking over the role of E3 this year, as it was sadly canceled. The Summer Game Fest is full of trailer reveals and announcements and it would seem Mortal Kombat 1 will be amongst these reveals.
