Nintendo reveals new reward system called My Nintendo

Nintendo’s first mobile game, Miitomo, will release in March alongside Nintendo’s new reward system.

Taking the place of the previous Club Nintendo My Nintendo will begin in March. At launch Nintendo Account users will be able to purchase games from mobile devices or the web, and set their 3DS and Wii U to auto-download the game. Nintendo Account will reward players with Platinum Points, My Nintendo’s currency, for using the eShop or using Nintendo applications. Platinum Points can be sued to purchase cosmetic content such as 3DS themes while Gold Points, another type of currency for My Nintendo, can be used for discounts. How Gold Points are earned hasn’t been disclosed.
My Nintendo will also feature messaging and discount coupons at launch, friend management will be added later.
Miitomo is Nintendo’s first mobile game. Launching in March, in Japan first, you can pre-sister for Miitomo starting February 17. Nintendo’s second application will be more recognizable to core fans Nintendo confirmed.
