Today, SEGA and Atlus held a massive Persona 5 Royal livestream. Providing a lot of new information about the updated game including the reveal of a new Palace, Akechi, and streaming restrictions.
The stream started with a full-length trailer of Persona 5 Royal, recapping everything that has been shown about the game. Producer Wada explained that newcomer Kasumi will appear early on in the game and that Kichijoji will be the new area.
Show Time attacks, a new addition to the game, will ignore elements and weaknesses. Speaking of stats, players can visit the Incense shop to purchase stat-boosting items for Joker. Allowing players to max out Personas easily if you have the money. Or the vintage shop that allows you to access new accessories.
The Jazz Club was shown along with a new Darts mini-game that can be played alone or with your friends.
Mementos will now feature a new character, Jose a puppet-like boy. He gathers flowers to study humans and you can obtain flowers to be traded to Jose for items. In addition, new missions will be added to Mementos with some requiring you to complete the persuade option. For those looking for more banter, Atlus has added new dialogue.
Those who stream the game won't be able to share January to April, with more information coming soon. This is likely due to the new Palace, which will appear during that period.
Ryuji's instant kill ability, which killed enemies below 10 levels the player will be altered. Instead, the ability will activate if you're dashing and not walking normally.
The stream ended with an unboxing of the limited edition version of the game and showing debuting Goro Akechi's trailer. Joker can now hang out with Goro, with unique confident scenes.
