From Capcom and Konami to Naughty Dog and Sony Santa Monica, this State of Play could be one of PlayStation's biggest showcases in recent memory.

With the next PlayStation State of Play right around the corner, expectations are building quickly. If recent rumors, leaks, and predictions are anything to go by, you could be looking at a showcase packed with both third-party announcements and major PlayStation first-party reveals.

On the third-party side, Capcom is one of the publishers expected to appear during the PlayStation State of Play. The prediction is that you'll see one of two things from the company. It could be something related to Devil May Cry, which would immediately get a lot of attention, or it could be another Resident Evil announcement.

More specifically, there is speculation about either a Resident Evil 9 story expansion or, less likely, the long-rumored Code Veronica remake finally being revealed. Either way, the expectation is that Capcom will bring something meaningful to the PlayStation event.

Remedy is another studio that could make an appearance. The prediction here is that Control Resonant will receive a new gameplay-focused trailer and a release date update. There is also a growing belief that the game may be arriving sooner than many expected.

Konami is also seen as a strong candidate for the State of Play lineup.

The safer prediction is a new trailer and release date update for Silent Hill: Townfall. A more ambitious prediction suggests PlayStation could also feature the Silent Hill 1 remake, with confirmation that it will be a timed PlayStation exclusive similar to Silent Hill 2.

Ubisoft could show up with Rayman Legends Retold, a project that has already surfaced through leaks. Meanwhile, NetherRealm may finally reveal Injustice 3 after years of speculation about the studio's next fighting game.

There is also the possibility that Hogwarts Legacy 2 makes its debut. The original Hogwarts Legacy was one of the standout third-party reveals during PlayStation's Future of Gaming event for PS5, and a sequel would undoubtedly attract plenty of attention. Another game that could appear is Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, which has become one of the more anticipated rumored projects.

Beyond those titles, the PlayStation State of Play will likely include a selection of indie games and a few unexpected reveals that are harder to predict ahead of time.

When it comes to PlayStation first-party announcements, Wolverine is expected to lead the presentation. The prediction is that you'll get an extended gameplay showcase alongside the launch of pre-orders. There could also be a collector's edition announcement, a themed DualSense controller, PlayStation 5 console covers for both the Slim and Pro models, and a 48-hour early access bonus tied to the Digital Deluxe Edition.

Marvel Tokon is another game that could receive a fresh trailer. The expectation is that PlayStation will reveal additional characters, stages, and new details while reminding players that the game is only a few months away from release.

Kena: Scars of Kosmora is also predicted to appear with a new trailer and an official release date, with a launch expected sometime this summer.

One of the more unusual predictions involves Fairgame$, which is expected to return under the new name Breakin. The belief is that the title will be free-to-play, and there is even speculation that PlayStation could release it immediately following the announcement rather than building up to a future launch.

Naughty Dog is another studio expected to make an appearance. Intergalactic is predicted to receive a gameplay-focused trailer and a summer release window. While there is some uncertainty surrounding the timing, it feels increasingly difficult to imagine another PlayStation State of Play passing without a substantial update on the project. It has been quite a while since you've seen proper gameplay from a brand-new Naughty Dog title, and the timing seems right for that to change.

Still, the biggest first-party prediction revolves around Sony Santa Monica.

Alongside Wolverine, the studio is expected to shine as one of the stars of the entire PlayStation showcase. The prediction is that the final reveal of the State of Play will be Cory Barlog's new project, currently referred to as the Faye game. The expectation is that PlayStation will announce a 2027 release window and position it as the major closing moment of the presentation.

There is also a more speculative idea tied to the announcement. Alongside the new game, PlayStation could tease the next mainline God of War entry. The belief is that the series may eventually move into Egyptian mythology, and a brief teaser could help reassure fans that Kratos and Atreus still have a future in the franchise.

The reasoning behind that prediction is simple. Even if Sony Santa Monica's new game looks impressive, some fans may immediately assume that the studio is moving on from God of War entirely. A small teaser for the next God of War could remove those concerns while allowing the new project to stand on its own.

Regardless of what happens, there is considerable confidence surrounding Cory Barlog's next game. His work on God of War (2018) helped redefine both Kratos and the franchise, making it one of the most anticipated PlayStation projects currently in development.

Outside of those major reveals, there could still be additional surprises.

The prediction acknowledges that having both Naughty Dog and Sony Santa Monica appear during the same State of Play might seem unlikely. Still, PlayStation has already been approaching this event differently than previous showcases.

As a result, expectations remain high for the overall quality of the presentation. There is also room for appearances by other PlayStation first-party studios. But Insomniac, Naughty Dog and Sony Santa Monica are tipped to be the three big pillars of the show.

Another is the Infamous remaster/remake collection that's been requested for ages. There's no concrete evidence to suggest it's arriving, but it's the kind of surprise announcement PlayStation could use to get people excited and show that it's listening to long-time fan requests.

One final prediction centers on Phantom Blade Zero.

With the game currently targeting a September release and remaining a PlayStation 5 console exclusive, another trailer seems likely. There is even some speculation that a delay could be announced given how crowded September is becoming with major game releases launching close together.

Only time will tell if all these predictions come true, but the overall expectation is clear. This PlayStation State of Play could be one of the most eventful showcases in recent memory, with a mix of big third-party announcements and long-awaited updates from some of PlayStation's biggest studios.
