If you were worried that the weekend of the 21st of October wouldn't be entertaining enough with two certain high-profile releases coming out, Paradox have got you covered. In a blog post they've announced that on the 20th of October, the new Heinlein patch for Stellaris will hit alongside the game's very first Story Pack, dubbed Leviathans. As the developer has stated, a Story Pack contains mostly scripted events and isn't as large as a regular expansion would be.

It is worth noting that, just like the previous patches, the Heinlein update will be available free of charge to any owners of Stellaris. A couple of upcoming features include rally points for freshly built ships, an expansion planner - a tab dedicated to showing the available colonizable planets and an overhaul of strategic resources. The Leviathans Story Pack will add Enclaves, which are a new type of precursors that allow for exchanging of certain resources and obtaining of other specific ones, Guardians, which are creatures of immense power whose numbers will depend on galaxy size, and the "War In Heaven". The Leviathans Story Pack will be available on the 20th of October for the price of $9.99 or your regional equivalent.
