Unlock Mortal Kombat X DLC Characters For Free

Mortal Kombat X is coming this Tuesday and Director Ed Boon has something special for those still unsure whether to spend the extra cash for DLC characters. In a tweet Ed Boom confirmed that “You can complete Premiere towers that feature (and let U play) DLC characters even if you haven’t purchased the character!”

This is great news for fans and consumers. For those who don’t know what the challenge towers are they’re special arenas that test the player’s skill by placing restrictions such as time limits, specific moves and other requirements to change the flow of matches. Premiere Towers will allow players who complete the challenges to play as DLC characters.

Of course this doesn’t mean you don’t have to pay for them. Players will have strict parameters to follow in order to test these characters out, so don’t expect to go online with them unless you pay for it. 

This can open the doors for many other games. Perhaps releasing demos of DLC content for consumers to try before investing into the entire package. 

Mortal Kombat X is set to release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC on April 14 with a PS3 and Xbox 360 coming later in the year. A iOS and Android version of the game is set to release soon as well. Those hoping to gain access to all the DLC characters can purchase the season pass for $29.99.
