Woolfe - The Red Hood Diaries is Well on Its Way to Being Funded

Belgium studio GriN has a lengthy history with the development of mobile applications, websites and video games. On Tuesday the indie developer launched a Kickstarter campaign for their most recent game, Woolfe - The Red Hood Diaries.

The main character of Woolfe is one Little Red Riding Hood, however, this fairy tale is a whole lot darker and has a more in depth background than the brother Grimm's fable. As with many love stories, two people fall in love, get married and move in together. One somber day, this story's happily ever after doesn't turn out so happy. The husband, Joseph, finds that his beloved wife is missing after going for a stroll through the woods.

After said tragedy, Joseph buries himself in work. His mother, on the other hand, searches the forest for answers, happening upon a young child who wears a locket containing a picture of Joseph's missing wife. This young child turns out to be Little Red Riding Hood, and after the questionable death of her father Joseph, a teenaged Riding Hood seeks justice.

 A vengeful, axe wielding Riding Hood takes off into the woods to find B.B. Woolfe, CEO of Woolfe industries and make him pay. Through platforming, hack 'n slash action, players solve puzzles, take on familiar bosses and use magical spells to fight through hoards of Toy Soldiers, all within a visually stunning fantasy/steampunk world.

The Kickstarter project is currently 40% funded with over 800 backers pledging nearly $20,000. The Woolfe Kickstarter runs through September 4 and will be funded if it hits its $50,000 goal. Moreover, In February GriN submitted Woolfe to Steam Greenlight, and within five days the game was Greenlit.

For a newly launched Kickstarter campaign, Woolfe is quickly gaining the attention of the press and fans alike, and without question, the project will be a successful one. Woolfe - The Red Hood Diaries is estimated to release in early 2015 for PC, with the future looking bright for console users as well. This, my friends, is a Kickstarter campaign you'd be silly not to support.
