In ARK: Survival Ascended, you can find Blue Gems and Red Gems on the Lost Colony map, but you can't get them from normal crystal forms. You can be sure of this method: go into the Lost City and collect the sleeping Gargoyle statues that are all around its tall buildings. You can get Blue Gems, Red Gems, Green Gems, and other things from these figures.

Reach the Lost City Gem Farming Area

Head to approximately 46 LAT, 49 LON and locate the Teleporter. Use it to reach the elevated section of the Lost City where multiple Gargoyle statues can be found.

Before entering, consider lowering your Hostility. Sleeping in a Tek Sleeping Pod can clear accumulated Hostility, reducing the chance of immediately attracting additional threats inside the city.

Harvest the Gargoyle Statues

Once you arrive in the upper city, look along the surrounding structures for stone Gargoyle statues. Grab a Hatchet and begin chopping down a statue.

These Gargoyles are resource nodes. They can drop Gems such as Red Gems and Blue Gems. Green Gems may also drop, along with resources such as Crystal, Metal, and Obsidian.

Do not remain beside a statue for too long. Disturbing a Gargoyle can cause the creature trapped within the statue to awaken, turning a simple resource run into a fight.

Use an Ankylosaurus for Better Harvesting

A strong Hatchet works for quick gathering, but an Ankylosaurus is a better choice when you want larger quantities. Bring one close to the statues and harvest them rapidly before the dormant Gargoyles have time to become a problem.
