Ark Survival Ascended Guide | How to Solo Alpha Resource Cache (Lost Colony)

The Alpha Resource Cache is one of the harder Outpost Missions in ARK: Survival Ascended: Lost Colony because each wave can contain different creatures, including dangerous Alpha enemies. A reliable solo strategy uses buried Reaper Kings to distract enemies while strong combat tames handle each wave. The Resource Cache used for this route is around 62 Latitude, 5 Longitude.

Prepare for the Alpha Resource Cache

Bring strong combat tames with good saddles. The demonstrated setup uses an Ossidon with roughly 27,000 Health and 1,000% Melee Damage, supported by another mate-boosted Ossidon. A Thylacoleo is also useful because its bleed can help against high-health enemies.

Adding a Daeodon is recommended for healing between waves. The mission has considerable spawn randomness, so stronger or additional tames can make difficult combinations much safer.

Set Up Buried Reaper Kings

Place Reaper Kings around the Resource Cache, set them to Passive, and bury them. The goal is not to have the Reapers fight. Instead, enemies can aggro toward them, reducing the pressure on the Resource Cache and your active combat tames.

You can also have combat tames follow the buried Reapers so they return toward their assigned position instead of chasing enemies too far away.

Fight Close to Your Combat Tames

Start the Alpha Resource Cache and stay near your strongest group whenever the center is not being overwhelmed. Keeping the Ossidons close together preserves their mate boost and helps them survive concentrated attacks.

Prioritize enemies threatening your active tames or the Resource Cache. Knock back dangerous bleeding creatures when possible, and use the Thylacoleo against especially durable Alpha enemies.

The current Resource Cache balance uses three waves, removes Neophytes, grants five times the normal XP from spawned enemies, and restores 20% of the Resource Cache's health after each completed wave.

Handle the Final Wave Carefully

The third wave can still contain highly durable enemies such as Alpha creatures and Spinos. Avoid abandoning damaged tames simply to defend the middle when the Resource Cache is not under immediate pressure.

If an enemy becomes stuck somewhere your tames cannot reach, a Railgun can help finish it from range. There is no need to rush the encounter, so use the available time to keep important tames alive.

After the final enemies are defeated, collect the Alpha Resource Cache rewards. The updated loot pool has improved chances for Arctic Armor and Fabricated Weaponry.
