Pristine Vulpite and Corrupted Vulpite are important Lost Colony items in ARK: Survival Ascended because they control the two evolutions of the Veilwyn. Pristine Vulpite evolves a Veilwyn into a Solwyn, while Corrupted Vulpite is required for a Malwyn.

Tame a Veilwyn First

Find a wild Veilwyn and approach it carefully from behind while crouching. When the Claim Veilwyn interaction appears, use it before the creature detects you.

Put the tamed Veilwyn into Companion Mode. You also need the Veilwyn Whistle, so keep it on an easily accessible hotbar slot because the next interaction requires several commands in quick succession.

Find a Wild Solwyn

Search Lost Colony for a wild Solwyn while your Veilwyn remains active as your companion. Approach the Solwyn carefully and watch for its Curiosity meter.

The Solwyn will request actions from your companion. Use the Veilwyn Whistle to perform the matching commands or emotes, which can include Play, Pet, Beg, and Call Friends.

Respond quickly. If you use the wrong command or take too long, the Solwyn can lose interest and force you to restart the sequence.

Once Curiosity reaches 100%, interact with the Solwyn to receive Pristine Vulpite. Higher-level Solwyns provide higher-quality Pristine Vulpite.

Use Pristine Vulpite to Get a Solwyn

Keep your Veilwyn in Companion Mode and raise its Adventure! buff to 100%. Activities such as killing creatures while the Veilwyn accompanies you increase this progression.

Once Adventure! reaches 100%, place Pristine Vulpite in the Veilwyn's inventory and force-feed it. The Veilwyn will evolve into a Solwyn.

Create Corrupted Vulpite

To make Corrupted Vulpite instead, you need a Bloodforge, which unlocks at Level 75.

Place Pristine Vulpite and the required Red Element Shards inside the Bloodforge. Select the Pristine Vulpite and choose Reinforce Item. The required number of Red Element Shards depends on the Vulpite's quality, so check its Reinforcement Requirement before starting.

When reinforcement finishes, the item becomes Corrupted Vulpite.

Use Corrupted Vulpite to Get a Malwyn

Raise another Veilwyn's Adventure! buff to 100% while it is in Companion Mode. Place Corrupted Vulpite in its inventory and force-feed it.

Instead of becoming a Solwyn, the Veilwyn will evolve into a Malwyn.

Pristine Vulpite evolves a fully prepared Veilwyn into a Solwyn, while reinforcing it into Corrupted Vulpite allows the same process to produce a Malwyn.
