Evolving a Veilwyn into Malwyn in ARK: Survival Ascended requires more than simply finding the creature in Lost Colony. You first need a tamed Veilwyn, obtain Pristine Vulpite from a wild Solwyn, convert it into Corrupted Vulpite, and raise the Veilwyn’s Adventure! buff to 100% before the evolution can happen.

Tame a Veilwyn and Use Companion Mode

Find a wild Veilwyn, crouch, and approach it carefully from behind. When you are close enough, use the Claim Veilwyn interaction to tame it. Set the Veilwyn as your companion because it must accompany you for the next steps.

Place the Veilwyn’s command whistle on an easily accessible hotbar slot. Its commands include several actions and emotes, such as Call Friends, Beg, Pet, and Play. Familiarize yourself with them before searching for a Solwyn because you will need to perform requested actions quickly.

Get Pristine Vulpite From a Solwyn

Locate a wild Solwyn while your Veilwyn is active as your companion. Approach the Solwyn and watch its Curiosity requirement. It will request different actions that must be performed through your Veilwyn.

Complete each requested action quickly. Waiting too long or choosing the wrong command can reset the interaction. Once the Curiosity reaches 100%, interact with the Solwyn to receive Pristine Vulpite. Higher-level Solwyns can provide higher-quality Pristine Vulpite.

Pristine Vulpite can normally evolve a Veilwyn into a Solwyn, but a Malwyn requires its corrupted version instead.

Make Corrupted Vulpite in the Bloodforge

Unlock the Bloodforge at Level 75 and place your Pristine Vulpite inside it. You also need Red Element Shards for the reinforcement process. The amount required increases with the quality of the Pristine Vulpite.

Select the Pristine Vulpite inside the Bloodforge and choose Reinforce Item. Once the reinforcement finishes, it becomes Corrupted Vulpite.

Reach 100% Adventure! and Evolve Into Malwyn

Your Veilwyn must have its Adventure! buff at 100%. Keep it in Companion Mode and defeat creatures while traveling with it to increase the buff. You can check its progress through Show Buffs in the Veilwyn’s inventory.

Once Adventure! reaches 100%, place Corrupted Vulpite in the Veilwyn’s inventory and force-feed it. The Veilwyn will transform into Malwyn.

The Malwyn Saddle unlocks at Level 65. Malwyn is combat-focused and can use Sanguine Malediction, Sanguine Vulnerability, and Sanguine Fatigue, along with teleport-based attacks.

Once the Veilwyn reaches 100% Adventure! force-feeding it Corrupted Vulpite permanently evolves it into a Malwyn.
