Start Forge It Anew

You can start Forge It Anew after the Prologue by obtaining any of St. Mihai's sword pieces. However, you ultimately need the Broken Sword of St. Mihai, which is obtained through the A Monk and a Saint quest.

Get the Broken Sword of St. Mihai

Progress through A Monk and a Saint until you reach the crypt beneath Svartrau Cathedral. You will eventually fight Mihai, the Cathedral's patron saint

Defeat Mihai and loot his body to obtain the Broken Sword of St. Mihai. This is one of the four pieces required to restore the weapon.

Find All Three Sword Shards

You also need three Sword Shards. You find each shard during one of the Forge It Anew objectives.

• Sword Shard 1

Travel to the Maragir Wealds and investigate the marked campsite using Focus Mode. Follow the yellow markings into the Kobold cave and continue to the end to collect the first Sword Shard.

• Sword Shard 2

Follow the Forge It Anew: Hostile Takeover objective to its marked location. Look for the cave entrance marked with a white X and make your way inside to obtain another Sword Shard.

• Sword Shard 3

Complete the remaining Forge It Anew objective to locate the third shard. You can collect the three shards in any order, so you don't have to follow a specific sequence.

Visit the Uriashi Blacksmith

Once you have:

• Broken Sword of St. Mihai
• Sword Shard 1
• Sword Shard 2
• Sword Shard 3

Travel to the Uriashi Hermitage in the Briar Sloughs.

Speak with the Uriashi blacksmith and choose the dialogue option indicating that you intend to kill Brencis. Hand over all four sword pieces, and the blacksmith will reforge them into the Restored Sword of St. Mihai.

However, this is not the weapon's final form.

Complete the Final Tempering Ritual

After receiving the Restored Sword, follow the new objective to a cave northwest of the Uriashi Hermitage.

Enter the cave and make your way through the ruins. Eventually, you will reach a ritual chamber containing a red orb.

Interact with the orb to begin the final trial.

Several waves of Echoing Anger enemies will spawn. Defeat every wave to complete the ritual.

Once the enemies are defeated, a cutscene plays, and the Restored Sword transforms into the Imbued Sword of St. Mihai.

You will also unlock the Arbiter's Blade achievement for completing the sword's restoration.

Imbued Sword of St. Mihai

The Imbued Sword of St. Mihai is a Legendary Greatsword. Its effects include increased weapon critical-hit chance, increased critical-hit damage, reduced Swordmastery ability cooldown, and increased damage against supernatural enemies.
