Essential Gear and Preparation

Before you start your life of crime, you'll need a mask. If you don't already have one, go to the Back Alley Shop in the southern part of Hernand.

Speak with the NPC there to purchase a mask, which is necessary for committing crimes. This merchant also sells keys, in case you need them. Once you have the Mask, open your inventory and equip it to your character slot.

Entering Lioncrest Manor

Go to the top left area of Hernand Town to find Lioncrest Manor. As you go up the hill toward the manor, stay on the right side. You can find an opening in the fence at the back or simply climb the wall and jump down. Look for the upper windows of the manor.

Climb the wall and hang onto the ledge until the option to open the window appears. The house would be deserted during the day, which presented an ideal opportunity to slip inside.

Finding the Hidden Gold Bar

Once inside, go through the large double doors and head downstairs to the main chamber. Walk to the fireplace in the middle of the room. You must first turn off the fire to search it.

Use your Lantern to light up the area; this trick reveals hidden items like the glowy steel object inside the hearth.

Get close and take the Gold Bar. A theft bar will appear on your screen. You must stay hidden and wait for this bar to disappear completely. Once it is gone, you can leave through the front door or the window.

Selling for Maximum Profit

A normal merchant will only offer you 190 Silver for the Gold Bar, but you should not accept that price. Instead, take it to the Bank in Hernand Town. Go inside and talk to the large NPC on the bottom floor.

Choose the bank option to trade your Gold Bar for 500 Silver. This is the best way to get rich quickly. You can also use the Bank to trade 500 Silver back for a Gold Bar if you need to store your wealth in Crimson Desert.
