You will learn how to kill the Titan in Doom: The Dark Ages' Escape quest in this guide. You will learn the easy but essential trick of aiming a turret at the Titan's head to fire a powerful bolt and block its main attacks. It will be easy and quick to defeat the Titan if you follow these steps.
Position Yourself on the Turret
The first thing you need to do is reach the available turret and place it. As soon as you get to the gun, aim straight at the Titan's head. Maintaining a steady crosshair on this weak spot will significantly increase the amount of damage you do. Remember, precision aiming is key, so take a moment to steady yourself before you begin firing.
Charging Your Bolt
If you keep shooting at the Titan's head, you'll see that the charging picture on the weapon starts to fill up with power. This charged bolt is essential because it can stop the Titan's deadly hits and does a lot of damage. Keep firing until the bolt is fully charged and ready to go.
Countering the Titan's Attacks
You need to move quickly whenever the Titan is about to use its main attack, whether it's a broad melee hit or an energy projectile. At the exact moment the Titan starts its attack motion, fire the charged bolt. The bolt will hit the attack coming at it, blocking it and knocking the Titan off balance. With this open window, you can continue shooting its head without getting hurt.
Finishing the Encounter
Continue repeating the cycle of aiming at the head, charging your bolt, and firing to counter the Titan's attacks. Each successful counter buys you time to inflict more damage, and before long, the Titan will fall. This strategy is straightforward: stay in place on the turret, aim your shots at the head, and use your charged bolt for both defense and offense.
Additional Tips
Make sure you have enough ammo before you fight the Titan because running out in the middle of a fight can leave you open to attack. Watching the Titan's attack cues will help you time your bolt shot, and getting used to its movements will make countering much easier. If you feel like you can't handle the attack anymore, take a short break and reload before getting back on the gun to keep going.
By mastering this approach—shooting the head, charging your bolt, and countering attacks—you'll consistently eliminate the Titan and complete the Escape quest with confidence.
