Gem of Cold Composure

Found northwest of the Balefire Stronghold in Albene Summits, these gems drop from Fell Commanders. They provide enhanced physical and magical resistance and trigger an ice explosion when charging a block, which is ideal for tank builds.

Gem of Meteoric Impact

The gateway outpost Dria in southern Albene Summits hosts a hidden point of interest filled with Vukah Clan members. Defeating these more formidable foes yields gems that illuminate gliders and unleash fire explosions upon landing.

Gem of Bloodlust

Also farmed in the Vukah Canyon area, these gems boost life-steal capabilities and are favoured by aggressive melee builds.

How to Farm Archaic Essence

Archaic Essence serves as the currency for gem upgrades. This is one of the most efficient ways to harvest this valuable resource.

Shroud Layer Exploration The highest-tier Essence is found in Albaneve Summits’ shroud layers—approach via the southern cave entrance near a frozen waterfall. Harvest orange-hued plants and mine floor deposits. Defeating shroud-flying creatures also drops essence fragments.

Checkpoint Strategy: Deploy a Flame Altar just above the shroud layer entry to create a safe respawn point. This allows repeated essence collection without backtracking from distant waypoints.
