Here’s how you can upgrade and socket gems to improve your weapons in Enshrouded.

Upgrading weapons and socketing gems transforms gear into build-defining tools. This guide covers rune usage and socket management.

Rune Types

Standard runes suffice for early upgrades, but legendary runes—crafted at the Blacksmith—are required for max-level enhancements. Salvaging gear yields rune stacks.

Socket Management

Items containing gems cannot be salvaged. To extract embedded gems, use a Gem Forge at the highest level to recover both the gem and return Archaic Essence.

Socket Weapon Gems

Properly socketed gems unlock unique weapon abilities. This guide details socketing procedures and builds integration.

Inserting Gems

Interact with a maximum-level forge, select the weapon, and choose the highest-tier gem that matches your build. For example, a Level 35 Parade Dagger paired with a Level 35 Gem of Cold Composure grants health orb drops on enemy defeat.

Testing Builds

Equip the gemmed weapon and engage a Fell Sickle Scythe or similar foe. Observe new effects—like health orb generation and elemental damage—to confirm synergy.
