Broker is a damage-dealing Lancer in FragPunk who excels at area control and vision denial. This character combines explosive damage potential with tactical smoke deployment and trap placement abilities.

Understanding how to use Broker's kit effectively will help you control key areas of the map while dealing significant damage to enemies.
Rocket Launcher
Your primary damage ability is a rocket launcher that serves as your main offensive tool. You can use this weapon to deal damage without zoom functionality, but it allows you to aim around corners effectively. When you spot an enemy, you can angle your shots to hit them even when they're behind partial cover.

There is a blast radius around the rocket that does damage depending on how close you are to the center of the explosion. A straight hit will kill an enemy right away, so it's beneficial to aim well. If you hit an enemy near them instead of directly, the splash damage will be less, but it will still be pretty bad.
Additionally, the rocket knocks enemies back, which can disrupt their positioning or push them into unfavorable positions.
Smoke Coin
Your second ability provides tactical smoke deployment through a throwable coin mechanism. This smoke creates a trail from your throwing position to wherever the coin finally lands. The smoke follows the coin's path, including bounces, giving you creative options for smoke wall placement.
When you throw the coin in corners, it creates smoke in small, concentrated areas. Long-range throws create extended smoke walls through the air, blocking sight lines across larger distances. If you throw the coin while crouched, it follows a ground path, allowing you to create low-profile smoke coverage.

You can experiment with different throwing angles and surfaces to create unique smoke patterns on various maps. The bouncing mechanics mean you can create smoke walls in unexpected locations by using walls and surfaces to redirect the coin's path.

Cherry Bombs
Your third ability deploys multiple explosive traps that remain on the ground until triggered. These cherry bombs function as area denial tools that activate when players walk through them. Each bomb deals damage over time to enemies who trigger them.
You can use this ability strategically to catch rotating enemies or control important map areas. Place the bombs in common pathways, around corners, or near objectives to punish enemy movement.

The bombs stay active for an extended period, making them effective for both immediate area denial and long-term map control.

The damage output is significant enough to threaten enemies who walk through multiple bombs, making them think twice about pushing through areas where you've placed traps. This ability works well for covering your flanks or protecting key positions while you focus on other areas of the map.
