Ghost of Yōtei Guide | How to Find Special Places

In this guide, you will learn where to locate all ten Special Places required to unlock the Speaking With The Land trophy. Each location can be found across various regions, and interacting with them involves either bowing or playing your Shamisen. Once the interaction is successful, a small animation, such as animals or birds appearing, will confirm it.

Yōtei Grasslands – Southern Coast

The first Special Place is located in the Yōtei Grasslands, at the southern coast. Travel to the bottom of the region and look near the beach or shoreline. There, you will find a signpost. Perform a bow or use your Shamisen in front of it. When completed correctly, an animation featuring nearby animals or birds will play around you in Ghost of Yōtei.

Yōtei Grasslands – Altar Of Reflection

The second Special Place is also within the Yōtei Grasslands, near the Altar of Reflection. Look for the statues marked with yellow-painted heads. The special icon will appear close to them. Approach the symbol and perform a bow to activate this location.

Yōtei Grasslands – Near Home By Lake Shikotsu

The third Special Place is situated near your home in the Yōtei Grasslands, to the right of Lake Shikotsu. You can fast travel to your home and move slightly right toward the lake. A plaque will be positioned in front of you. Perform a bow at this spot, and once done correctly, butterflies will appear around you in Ghost of Yōtei.

Ishikari Plain – Otaru Hills By Ishikari River

The fourth Special Place is in the Ishikari Plain, near the Otaru Hills and Ishikari River. Stand within the river area as shown on the map, and you will find the icon nearby. Perform a bow once you are in position to register the location.

Ishikari Plain – Rumoi River

The fifth Special Place is also within the Ishikari Plain, beside the Rumoi River. Move toward the road to the left of the fork. Once you reach the correct spot, the special place icon will appear. Perform a bow at the location to complete it.

Tokachi Range – Yubari Lake

The sixth Special Place is in the Tokachi Range, near Yubari Lake, in the corner. Head toward the area with the stone columns and the ring-shaped rock feature. To get to the right place, go down to the water and swim across. When you get to the spot, do a bow to make it work in Ghost of Yōtei.

Tokachi Range – Huranui’s Rest

The seventh Special Place is also located in the Tokachi Range, close to Huranui’s Rest. Follow the river’s curve to the corner, where you will see the icon for the special location. Perform a bow to complete it.

Nayoro Wilds – Cukpet Hills

The eighth Special Place is found in the Nayoro Wilds, near the Cukpet Hills at the southern edge of the map. The location lies beside a river and a small camp. You will find the icon close to the camp area. Perform a bow to mark it as complete in Ghost of Yōtei.

Teshio Ridge – Sakura Woods

The ninth Special Place is located at the Teshio Ridge, near the Sakura Woods, toward the southern part of the map. You will find a lake with a rock in the middle. Swim across to the rock where the icon is placed. Once you reach it, perform a bow to activate the location.

Oshima Coast – Otsuki River Temple

The final Special Place can be found at the Oshima Coast, positioned at the top left near the Otsuki River. Move toward the temple in the area. Look to the right of the temple, near a tree, and you will find the special icon behind it. Perform a bow at this spot to complete the tenth and final location, earning the Speaking With The Land trophy in Ghost of Yōtei.
