The Carvex in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is one of the more challenging mid-game boss fights due to its rotating armor and spinning tentacle attacks. The key to overcoming a lot of the moves that Carvex has is by having an understanding of its defense mechanism and targeting its weak points to deal real damage.
This guide will explain how you can take on each phase successfully and expose Carvex's core weak points without it being too challenging.
Initially, Carvex likes using its sweeping arm strikes, so you must prioritize your mobility. Strafing around the edge of the perimeter of the arena will make it easier to dodge attacks and, at the same time, allow you to shoot both of the tentacles. You want to target the bulbous points on the tentacles.

After significantly damaging the tentacles, you'll want to use the psychic ability and the guided shot attack. Pairing these together will fully break the armor plates. You'll want to fire the shots through the exposed side and curve around the body and aim at the tentacles.

This may sound challenging, but it's pretty easy when you consider that Carvex moves in slow motion during the Psychic phase. This will stun Carvex, and when exposing the core, you'll want to be constantly shooting at the belly, its weak point. Missiles deal a lot of damage during this phase, so utilizing them can be beneficial.

You'll want to repeat, rinse, and repeat this tactic multiple times and during various phases of the fight. Carvex may change its moveset and bring in a new attack.
When Carvex's health becomes low, it begins deploying rotating energy barriers and does faster spin attacks. The rotating barriers move around the arena, so you want to wait out this phase.
Once the spin slows, you want to repeat the process mentioned above on each tentacle. And when you have access to the psychic ability again, using another charged guided shot, take out the remaining of the tentacles and defenses.
As it exposes its belly again, you will want to continuously spam it to finish the fight. There will usually be health pickups.
The health pickups that often appear during the final phase of the fight allow you to recover some of your health. You must stay aggressive whilst also avoiding close-range hits.
Defeating Carvex is mostly dependent on your timing and movement rather than your raw firepower.
