There are many ways for the Defect to win, but the Claw deck is one of the easiest to understand. The idea is easy. You keep the deck light, stack cheap attacks, and use draw tools to get to Claw over and over.

Current Defect guides still see Claw as one of the clearest archetypes, and cards like Scrape, FTL, Beam Cell, Go for the Eyes, and Hologram help.

Scrape helps you find the right cards faster

When a Claw deck stops playing fair, it gets a lot stronger. That's where Scrape comes in. It lets you quickly find your cheap cards, which means more pressure and more chances to deal Claw damage in the same fight.

Scrape is one of the main reasons the deck works. It rewards you for getting rid of slow filler and keeping the list focused on low-cost cards that really help the run.

Save All for One for Your Biggest Turns

Once the deck is online, All for One is the card that turns steady pressure into huge damage. It brings back your cheap cards and lets you use the attacks that made the deck strong again.

That's why the best Defect runs don't just pick up any old zero-cost cards. They make sure that those cheap cards are worth drawing again. Feral also helps here because it lets you attack more than once for a low cost instead of making you play one small card and pass.

Don't ignore defense just because the deck is fast

A lot of Claw runs fail because the damage looks good but the defense isn't very strong. Even the most recent Defect build guides say that a fast deck can still use some Frost or steady block support.

That matters because you still need time to draw, cycle, and plan your best moves. It's good to have a thin deck. A thin deck with no way to live is not. Keep the list short, but make sure it lasts long enough to get paid.

Keep the Deck Lean and the Picks True

Most of the time, the best Defect Claw decks look simple. You take the cards that are cheap but important. You skip the ones that don't.

You use draw to get Claw, and you use payoff cards to make those turns count. Once the deck stops trying to do everything at once, it becomes much easier to drive and much more dangerous in long fights.
