World War Z Guide | Moscow Virus Sample Locations

Moscow has tight spaces and sudden swarm pressure, so carrying a Virus Sample at the wrong time can turn a clean run into a dangerous scramble. You can stay safer if you know where each container spawns and when to pick it up during the biggest fights. 

This guide shows you where to find all the Virus Samples in A Sign From Above, Key To The City, Battle Of Nerves, and Resurrection. It also gives you easy-to-follow directions that will help you stay on track.

Locations of Samples of A Sign From Above Virus

Virus Sample Location 1

Use the bus and the gap in the fence to get to the museum. Go straight down toward the left side of the museum entrance before you go in. Behind a truck, you should spot wooden crates, and a Virus Sample will be tucked among them.

Virus Sample Location 2

Go to the other side of the museum, where the second control panel is located next to the closed center door. An open door to the right of that door leads into a hallway with paintings that have been ruined. Check behind the door at the end of the hallway, where a Virus Sample is sitting on a small military crate. Get this Virus Sample only after you beat the museum swarm. If you get it too soon, the container may be more likely to break during the rest of the fight.

Leave the museum and go outside. Go left until you see a red van and a car that is partly buried in snow next to a bus. There is a dead soldier nearby, and a Virus Sample should be right next to it.

Locations Of Virus Samples In The Key To The City

Virus Sample Location 1

Get out of the tavern through the broken window on the upper floor. When you get down, look to the right for a stairwell where a white car crashed into it. There should be a Virus Sample on one of the steps. 

The timing of this chapter's Virus Sample is important, and since it's close to the exit area, it's best to get it right before you leave with Svetlana and her team. For the other places nearby, it's best to wait a little longer instead of getting everything right away. However, don't wait until the last second because nonstop Zekes start showing up as soon as the message is sent.

Walk past the sinkhole that is partly blocked off by type-2 traffic barriers. Keep going until you get to a fenced or partly fenced area that is blocked off by a gas main pipe that is on fire on the other side. There should be a soldier's body on the right between these two points, along with a Virus Sample.

Virus Sample Location 3

Go into the mall and find the part with the stairs. Go down the hall on the same side as the ambulance and take the stairs that are under the broken ones. When you reach the bottom, turn left, and a lone Virus Sample should be there.

Battle Of Nerves Virus Sample Locations

Virus Sample Location 1

Get to the end of the first set of tunnels. Go over the train and head toward the back. There should be a virus sample on the floor there. Pick it up just before Svetlana opens the door to the bunker. This will lower the risk of damage during the fight.

Virus Sample Location 2

Head to the place where you call for the lift. Make a right turn into a space that is only partly open and walk to the door with the bright red light above it. There will be a dead soldier leaning against the rail with a Virus Sample next to him. Get this one right before the lift arrives, because the area around the lift gets crowded, and fighting up close can easily break the container.

Go up the winding stairs, through the door, and to the right. A Virus Sample should be waiting behind some metal containers.

Virus Sample Location 1

If the lab is full of nerve agent, let it out and then go inside. Go to the back of the room until you reach the one in the right corner. When you walk through, turn right, and you should see a Virus Sample on a desk in the corner with some lab equipment.

Virus Sample Location 2

Go to the end of the tunnel, then turn right into the next one. The barred doors to the right of the first tunnel will sometimes be open, making it easy to get to the end. At the end, you should be able to see the body of a soldier. Just past that, behind some metal rubble, you can find a Virus Sample.

Virus Sample Location 3

After you leave the tunnels, take the closest escalators up or climb the crashed train in the middle of the platform. If you took the escalators to the second floor, go down toward the tunnel on the right. If you climbed the crashed train, go down to the closest tunnel. There should be a dead soldier on the slope, and the Virus Sample should be just past it at the end of the slope.
